The total refurbishment of one of Manchester’s biggest rock music venues, The Academy (www.manchesteracademy.net), based in the university campus, forming part of the Students Union buildings.
The existing 1990’s building is out-dated and unfit for purpose. We are proposing a new striped entrance tower with VIP bar and lobby bringing vibrancy and character to a drab original design. A stage extension and new band facilities will improve the buildings operation, creating an attractive venue for both bands and audience, whilst making the building fully accessible to disabled people.
